The Kenya Morans will go into the tournament hoping to clinch gold, having finished second in the 2019 event in Bamako, Mali.

KIU Titans forward Fidel Okoth is one of the 12 players selected by head coach Cliff Owuor to represent Kenya at the FIBA Afro-CAN Tournament in Luanda, Angola.

Okoth, who is expected to re-join KIU Titans at the end of the tournament, was one of the team’s key pieces last season and has been signed for the remainder of this season.

The Kenya Morans will go into the tournament hoping to clinch gold, having finished second in the 2019 event in Bamako, Mali.

Kenya fell to the Democratic Republic of Congo in the final.

Former Dmark Power forward Brian Sivachi and former Namuwongo Blazers guard Kennedy Wachira are also on the team.

Victor Bosire will captain the team that also features United States of International University guard Ariel Ortega and Tanzania-based Bramwell Muchina.

APR’s Bush Wamukota is also on the team, just like US-based Derrick Ogechi and shooting Guard Erick Mutoro of Ulinzi Warriors.

The team is without former Falcons, KIU Titans and Namuwongo Blazers forward Ariel Okall, who now plies his trade in Burundi.

The tournament is slated for July 8th-16th in the Angolan capital of Luanda.

Rwanda scooped the ticket to represent Zone Five after winning the qualifiers in Dar es Salam, Tanzania, while Kenya had an automatic ticket to the tournament.

Uganda failed to make the trip for the qualifiers due to lack of funds.
