Game two is slated for Sunday 27 May at the Nyayo Stadium.

Kenya Ports Authority men's team destroyed Equity Dumas 62-53 in Game One of the Kenya Basketball Federation Premier League final at the Nyayo Stadium on Friday night, May 26.

The first quarter started off with Equity Dumas peppering the KPA bucket at any slight lapse of the defending champions. A few minutes into the match, the Bankers were already four points ahead and had dominated the court.

Their sturdy defense denied KPA scoring chances in the first few minutes of the match but as the match intensified, they were forced to take off the hand brake and go on the attack.

The quarter ended with both teams having scored 18 points. However, KPA had already suffered five fouls.

Coming back for the second quarter, KPA started picking up slowly and the Bankers had to work on their defense more. The Dockers launched bucket shots to shock Equity.

However, more was needed to open a wide gap since the quarter ended 15-14 due to Equity's resilience to try and get a foothold of the game.

The dressing room conversations saw coach Anthony Ojukwu's charges engage the fifth gear. The now highly spirited Dockers dominated the court and easily cruised through Equity's defense to score.

Equity tried to catch up but time was also not on their side. As the referee blew the whistle, KPA had carried the night with a 62-53 win over Equity.

The two will now clash in Game Two next on Sunday 27 May at the Nyayo Stadium.
