Nigerian Premier Basketball League champions Kwara Falcons suffered a 68-75 loss to AS Douanes of Mali on Saturday, March 18, 2023.
In their fourth game of the 2023 Basketball Africa League (BAL), Kwara Falcons were unable to notch their first win of the continental tournament.
The Ilorin-based side led by Head Coach Jibril Baba Kadri put up 17 points in the first quarter as AS Douanes established a three-point lead.
It was more of the same from both teams in the second quarter as AS Douanes went to the break with a six-point advantage.
Just like in previous games, the Kwara Falcons did not start the third quarter well, and AS Douanes capitalized to stretch their lead to 12.
Kwara Falcons put up 21 points in the fourth quarter as AS Douanes held on for a seven-point victory.
Key performer - Jean Jacques Boissy
Senegalese guard Jean Jacques Boissy was the star performer for AS Douanes against the Kwara Falcons.
Boisy was a spark off the bench as he provided 22 points, four rebounds, and four assists in 24 minutes of action.
He made six of his 10 shots, including five of nine from three-point range, and was a perfect five for five from the free throw line.
