The Orange Ball International Tournament will feature four teams from four different countries.
The Kwara Falcons will participate in the Orange Ball International Tournament ahead of their debut in the Basketball African League.
The tournament will be held in Abidjan, Cote D`Ivoire between February 27 and March 3.
The Orange Ball International Tournament will feature four teams from four different countries including Kwara Falcons (Nigeria), Abidjan Basketball Club (Cote D`Ivoire), Stade Malien (Mali) and Kadji Sports Academy (Cameroon).
The tournament will serve as a warm-up for BAL teams ahead of the group stage of the continental league. Abidjan BC, Falcons, and Stade Malien (Mali) are all grouped together in the Sahara Conference of the BAL.
The Nigerian champions will depart Nigeria on February 23 for Abidjan, where they will continue training before traveling to Dakar, where the Safari Conference games will begin on March 11.
Kwara Falcons drawn in Sahara Conference
The Nigerian champions have been handed a difficult group in the BAL, which tips off next month.
The Kwara Falcons, who will be making their debut in the elite competition, have been drawn into the Sahara Conference.
The Falcons will compete against the defending champions, as well as five other teams from the conferences, including three other debutants.
Playing in the elite league for the first time are the BAL Abidjan Basket Club (Côte d’Ivoire), Al Ahly (Egypt), City Oilers (Uganda), Kwara Falcons (Nigeria), and Stade Malien (Mali).
The Falcons will start their campaign against the Rwanda Energy Group (REG, on March 12th before taking on Stade Malien and US Monastir on the 14th and 15th, respectively.
