NBA superstar LeBron James has gone viral over the condition of his feet which shows the wear and tear on his body even with the Ksh13.6m he forks out yearly to maintain them

NBA superstar LeBron James is one of the top headline makers in sports what with the numerous records he breaks but now, he is making news for the look on his feet.

The all-time NBA leading points scorer has seen a photo of his feet go viral because his toes are quite mangled up in certain areas which could point to the effects of playing basketball for many years.

James was pictured on vacation without shoes and the wear and tear on his body was visible from the look on his feet with his little toe appearing to point across his foot rather than upwards.

According to the Dailymail, the picture appears to have been taken over 10 years ago, but that has not stopped the four-time NBA champion from putting up impressive numbers on the basketball court.

While debate still rages on whom between him and Michael Jordan is the greatest basketballer of all time, the 39-year-old, now in his 21st NBA season, looks not to be stopping any time soon and managed 26 points as the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Charlotte Hornets 124-118 on Monday.

The condition of James’s feet was surprising to many given the huge amounts he spends to maintain them.

“For his feet generally, I would say that every month LeBron will be likely spending around $7,000 (Ksh1.1 milion) on podiatric care, orthotics, and custom sneakers,” a podiatrist told The Sun last year.

“LeBron also has a complicated left foot and would need scalpel treatment to get the calluses removed and prevent ulcerations.

“Now there's rehabilitation for his right foot on top of that. That's a huge bill - adding up to $84,000 (Ksh13.6 million) a year.”

‘King James’ has competed in 10 NBA Finals, including eight consecutive appearances from 2011 to 2018, winning four NBA championships.
