James extended his legacy by becoming part of the NBA's first active father-son duo when his son Bronny was drafted in 2024.

Veteran forward LeBron James has agreed to a new two-year contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The deal is reportedly worth $104 million and includes a no-trade clause.

James' return to the Lakers was widely expected, despite speculation about him potentially joining a team that drafted his son, Bronny James.

The signing strengthens the possibility of LeBron sharing the court with his son in the future.

The 39-year-old James remains among the league's highest earners, averaging $51 million annually. This places him alongside players like Joel Embiid, Nikola Jokic, and Kevin Durant. Stephen Curry currently holds the top spot for salary cap hit at $55 million.

With this contract extension, James is projected to reach a career total of $583 million in NBA salary by the end of the 2025-26 season.
