Popular rapper Lil Wayne backs Ja Morant to bounce back from Gun troubles.

Following his second ban of the season for brandishing a pistol on social media, well-known American musician Lil Wayne backed Memphis Grizzlies star guard Ja Morant.

When Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson joined Weezy on the most recent edition of Showtime's All the Smoke podcast, Weezy was questioned about the NBA star's contentious off-court actions.

Wayne said that rather than jumping to conclusions about Ja Morant, he attempted to put himself in his position and likened it to how he felt as a young artist making his way in the industry.

He said, “The best I could do is remember when I was younger and my homies, my squad, my n-ggas around me, at the age where they don’t have money.

“I’m the one with the money, and I don’t even know how much money I’ll end up with, but I’m the one with some money in my pocket — I know I got a bright future.

“My homies, they ain’t on a payroll. They my homies, they live good when they with me.

"When I gotta go to work and all that, they gotta go back to being who they gotta be. So what I’m saying that to say, they in them streets and I was aware of that.

“So if I was going through something at that point in time, something public what slime going through, I could imagine the rebellious attitude I would have if my homies is egging that attitude on.”

Ja Morant is a young man from a small town who has amassed millions of money, and Lil Wayne continued by reflecting on his own history with weapons despite coming from a loving household.

In an effort to comprehend Ja Morant's thinking, Lil Wayne also recalled a chat he had with Gudda Gudda, a Young Money associate, and one of his younger artists.

On Tuesday, May 16 Morant finally spoke out about the incident and accepted responsibility for his conduct.

It is now expected that Morant gets a massive suspension from NBA Commissioner Adam Silver.
