Playing in front of their home fans, Avenida put up 25 points to take the first quarter.
With an 11-point lead in place, Avenida traded buckets with Leganes as the away side took the second quarter.
Avenida took an eight-point lead to the halftime break. In the third quarter, it was a back-and-forth exchange on offense between the two sides.
The home side ensured the win with a 21-point third quarter to blowout their opponents by 17 points.
It was a massive victory for Avenida as they move to second place in the standings.
Avenida are now just one point behind league leaders Valencia with just six league games left.
Michaela Onyewere shines for Avenida
Nigerian-American basketball player Michaela Nne Onyenwere was again in good form for Avenida in the victory against Leganes.
It was a good outing for the 23-year-old days after she led Avenida to EuroLeague women's quarterfinal.
Onyewere in 32 minutes of action put up 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the team.
She was awarded the Most Valuable Player (MVP) as she now takes Avenida to take on Czech Republic giants USK Praha.

Onyenwere is now on course to win the Liga Femenina and EuroLeague women's title with Avenida before returning to the United States of America (USA) for the 2023 WNBA season.
Onyewere returns to the WNBA with a different setting as she now represents the Phoenix Mercury following a trade from the New York Liberty.
