The UCU Lady Canons won their third straight game in the National Basketball League as they defeated Angels Angels Basketball Club, 74-34, at the YMCA court on Sunday.
The thought of playing catch up to the rest of the league has spurred on the Lady Canons, who started in dominant fashion leading 39-19 at the break and did not look back.
Tracy Namugosa was awarded player of the match for the second straight game after another stellar performance scoring 18 points, eight rebounds and four assists.
“We played well as a team today even though playing under the heat was a challenge, the team has been training hard during the break, and we are showing it now," Namugosa told Pulse Sports.
“There is plenty of work left to be done by the team, and we know we can play better in all aspects, and now we look ahead to the next game," she added.

OPINION A case for Claire Lamunu
Claire Lamunu has earned the right to make the team and will make the Gazelles better in the finals.
Up next for the Lady Canons is the university derby against high-flying KIU Rangers, looking to make it four wins in a row.
The Angels are second from bottom with only three wins this season and will look to start their journey out of trouble when they face A1 Challenge next in league action.
