Gabe Vincent on Miami Heat's loss to Denver Nuggets in Game 1
Nigerian-American professional basketball player Gabriel Nnamdi Vincent, at the post game press conference, was confident the Miami Heat could bounce back in Game 2.
The 26-year-old contributed 19 points, one block, two rebounds, and five assists in 38 minutes of action.
Vincent was asked about the Denver offense and getting to the paint early on.
The guard explained that they will learn from this game and make adjustments for Game 2.
He said, "I mean, they are a physical group. I think we had to adjust to their physicality early, especially myself.
"They had a couple lay-ups on me early that we had to adjust to. But, you know, it's a long series, first to four wins, adjustments will be made, and we'll learn from this loss.
Vincent also had praise for the American professional basketball player of Nigerian descent, Femi "Bam" Adebayo.
He said, "I think we are always trying to find Bam, and the way they guard, he tended to be open with some of our sets a bit, and he made some good reads tonight, and he made some shots.
"He's aggressive. We're going to need him to continue to be aggressive and continue to attack and continue to make the right reads for us."
Vincent and the Miami Heat will now aim to steal one on the road against the Denver Nuggets in Game 2, scheduled for Saturday, June 3, 2023.
