The USA are back on top of women's football after beating Brazil 1-0 to win Olympic Gold at Paris 2024.
However, the US was too strong that evening, with a wealth of All-Stars and future Hall of Famers like LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant.
As the French attempted a comeback late in the game, Curry made a string of three-pointers.

He led the US with 24 points after going 8 for 13 from three that evening. With 26, Wembanyama led France in scoring.
Curry revealed after the game that he had originally had trouble shooting the night before, but then the rhythm and the avalanche arrived.
With the exception of 2004 in Athens, the United States has now won gold at eight of the past nine Olympics. In their final on Sunday, the even more powerful US women's team will try to win gold.

Since losing two games in the Olympic preliminary round in Athens, including a crushing defeat to Puerto Rico, and losing to Argentina in the semifinals, Team USA has maintained its reign of supremacy in the world on the men's side.
After taking home a bronze medal from those Games, the United States redesigned the program and convinced its top athletes to compete in international tournaments on a regular basis. LeBron James has won three gold medals at the Olympics.

With four now, Kevin Durant is the greatest Olympic scorer in American history. For a men's player, that is an all-time Olympic record.
But for Stephen Curry, the two-time NBA MVP and four-time NBA champion whose long-range shooting altered the game of basketball, this Olympic gold is a first.
