In a humbling defeat, the Saints lost their latest game in the National Basketball League to the UCU Canons, 87-35 in Mukono. "Majority of the boys are coming from division one, and the learning curve is needed to improve as a team and individually,” Juuko said.
"We managed to get to the hoop in the fourth, which was a bit difficult in previous quarters, but we will learn from our mistakes and grow from there,” he added.
Trevor Tambwe led the game in scoring with 17 points and also collected six rebounds for the Saints( a team high) in the defeat.
Meanwhile, the UCU Canons won their third straight game in the league and are building the right momentum despite a shaky start to the campaign.
Peter Sifuma led the way for the Canons with an impressive 12 points and 11 rebounds double-double on the day in 20 minutes of action.
The Canons limited their opponents to single-digit scoring in three quarters as they shot 14/57 (24%) from the field.
The Canons shot an impressive 36/72 (50%) from the field and looked very impressive offensively. Canons head coach, Nicholas Natuhereza, was impressed with the game's flow, with everyone bar one playing today.
"It was a good game, and I was pleased we won. The majority of the team got to play some minutes, and it was a step in the right direction,” Natuherwza said. The Canons play the Rockets next while Rez Life Saints will turn their attention to Our Savior in their next fixture, looking to win their first game in three.
