All games of the intercontinental tourney are to be played in the capital Doha.
Qatar has been named as the host of the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup, the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) has announced.
The Middle Eastern country, which staged the 2022 FIFA World Cup finals, submitted the bid, which impressed the FIBA's Central Board.
Qatar's capital Doha will host the 32-team tournament on the dates yet to be announced.
"The Central Board was impressed by the submission made by QBF. I want to congratulate them on behalf of the Board for the quality of the work they have already completed in putting this bid together. We are very happy to be able to award the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 to Qatar," said FIBA president Hamane Niang.
"While we are all looking forward to what we know will be another standout FIBA event when the action starts in Qatar, we will also enjoy the full journey to Doha. The qualification path to the World Cup has been a great success since its introduction in 2017, and we will be ready once again to follow all the action."

FIBA said they chose Doha as the city is the best-connected destinations in the world, while the recently upgraded subway and public transportation network connects all venues.

The local federation has set a new date for the convocation.
At the same congress, FIBA announced that Germany will host the women's World Cup in 2026 in Berlin.
Qatar now becomes the third straight Asian host of the men's tournament after China in 2019, and the Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia host this year's edition from Aug. 25-Sept. 12.
