Spain's most capped basketball player, Rudy Fernandez, announced on Thursday his decision to retire at the end of the season, marking the end of a remarkable journey in the world of basketball.
The Real Madrid guard/forward aims to make his final appearance at the upcoming Paris Olympics, provided Spain secures qualification this summer.
"The word retirement is difficult to say, but I've reached a certain age and I'm starting to think about other things, about my family," Fernandez expressed during a news conference on his 39th birthday.
