The Minnesota Timberwolves have announced that centre Rudy Gobert will be suspended for for Tuesday's play-in game against the Lakers after he threw a punch at teammate Kyle Anderson.
The Timberwolves will be without Rudy Gobert after he lost his cool and punched teammate Kyle Anderson during a time-out in Sunday's win over the Pelicans.
Power forward Jaden McDaniels, will also be unavailable after fracturing the third and fourth metacarpals of his right hand in the wake of his decision to punch a wall in anger.
Rudy Gobert suspended for Lakers game
According to ESPN, Gobert publicly apologized and discussed the incident with Anderson privately, but the organization felt there was no choice other than to suspend him for the Lakers game on Tuesday.
The Timberwolves have two shots of getting into the playoffs through the play-in situation.
Should they lose to the seventh-seeded Lakers on Tuesday, they get another opportunity, going back home to take on the winner of the New Orleans-Oklahoma City play-in game for a chance to advance into the Western Conference playoffs.
