In their second group game, Rwanda Energy recorded an 80-73 victory against Abidjan Basketball Club in Dakara Senegal on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.

Abidjan Basketball Club dominated early to take a three-point lead against Rwanda Energy Group.

It was more of the same in the second quarter as Abidjan Basketball Club added four points to their advantage to take a seven-point lead going to the halftime break.

After defeating AS Douanes of Senegal in their group opener, Abidjan Basketball Club could not keep up the tempo with Rwanda Energy Group in the third quarter.

With a 26-point explosion Rwanda Energy Group took a one-point lead at the end of the third quarter.

Abidjan Basketball Club tried to get back into the game but Rwanda Energy group held on in the fourth quarter for a seven-point victory.

Key performers

Rwandan-American basketball player Adonis Filer was the star perf0ormer 0of the game.

He led both teams in scoring with 25 points and added four rebounds and six assists.

Abidjan Basketball Club captain and shooting guard Stéphane Konaté also had a great game. He recorded 16 points, five rebounds, and four assists.

Rwanda Energy Group now has two wins and are now among the favorites to progress from the BAL Sahara conference.
