Scottie Pippen has taken sides with LeBron James ahead of his former teammate, Michael Jordan.
Scottie Pippen, a former Chicago Bulls great and NBA superstar renewed his strange rivalry with Michael Jordan.
Pippen criticized Jordan while hailing LeBron James as the best winning and "statistical" athlete to have ever lived when appearing as a guest on Stacey King's "Gimme The Hot Sauce" podcast.
Pippen has frequently attacked Michael Jordan while boosting LeBron James, who joined the NBA only a few months after Jordan retired in 2003.
This behavior appears to be a result of how Jordan treated Pippen in the documentary "The Last Dance."
Before the two became teammates, Pippen outright labeled Jordan "a horrible player" in what has since turned into a one-sided animosity, even after Jordan's retirement.
Pippen on LeBron James
The 38-year-old James is the all-time leading scorer and ranked number four in all-time assists a point Pippen used to shade Jordan.
He said, "LeBron is the greatest winner. "He's a lot older now and gets criticized a lot. He's never been a shotmaker. He's never been the guy to take the last shot.
"He's never been great at that. I said this many years ago, and I got criticized for it. When LeBron James leaves the game, he'll be the greatest statistical player to ever play the game.
"LeBron will be the greatest statistical guy to ever play the game of basketball, and there's no comparison to him, none.
"So, does that make him the greatest player to ever play the game? I'll leave that out for debates because I don't believe that there's a great player because our game is a team game and one player can't do it."
Pippen on Michael Jordan
Despite the fact that his son Marcus Jordan is dating Scottie Pippen's ex-wife Larsa Pippen, Jordan, who is 60, has yet to reply to any of Pippen's rants.
Speaking on Jordan, Pippen said, "I've seen Michael Jordan play before I came to the play with the Bulls.
"You guys seen him play. He was a horrible player. He was horrible to play with. He was all 1-on-1, shooting bad shots.
"All of a sudden, we become a team and we start winning. Everybody forgot who he was.
"He was a player that really winning was not at the top of his category. It was scoring. He was going at the scoring titles.
"It wasn't until Phil Jackson showed up that kind of changed the menu a little bit, and that still took some time, but that wasn't in the documentary."
Pippen continued by contradicting himself by claiming that Jordan's absence would not have prevented the Bulls from winning two or three more championships.
