In the NBA Cup, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander goes crazy as the Thunder beat Lakers.

In an NBA Cup game, the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 101-93 on the road thanks to 36 points, nine assists, and six rebounds from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

With 7:43 remaining in the first quarter, the Thunder led 15–6 after making seven of their first nine shots.

After an extensive run, they led 32–24 in the second quarter.

Before halftime, Gilgeous-Alexander and Kenrich Williams made consecutive 3-pointers to put Oklahoma City ahead 51-48.

Late in the game, Gilgeous-Alexander gained control and scored 15 points.

The Lakers, the reigning NBA Cup winners, dropped to 2-2 in West Group B, while the Thunder moved to 2-1.

Oklahoma City scored 20 points off Los Angeles' 17 mistakes and shot 40.9 percent from the field.

The Thunder, who have won four straight games, added 19 points from Jalen Williams, 14 points from Luguentz Dort, and 11 points and a season-high 18 rebounds from Isaiah Hartenstein.

The Lakers, who have lost four of five games, were led by rookie Dalton Knecht with 20 points, D'Angelo Russell with 17 points off the bench, and Anthony Davis with 15 points, 12 rebounds, and four blocks.

Austin Reeves contributed 11 points, and LeBron James finished with 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists.
