The Ghanaians kept to their promise of bringing their A-game to the semifinal of the Louis Edem Basketball Championship.
Ghana’s Spintex Knights have become the first team to secure a ticket to the final of the ongoing Louis Edem Basketball Championship.
Knights put on a show in the first semifinal of the day to dispatch the Legends 66-90 on Friday evening at the Indoor Sports Hall inside the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
Road to the final
Having sneaked into the last four of the competition from the back door after Unilag did them a huge favour, the Ghanaians were determined to make the most of their second chance and extend their journey in the tournament.
They did exactly that with arguably their best performance so far in Lagos. The Nobles started on a positive and strong note, taking the opening quarter by six points following a 10-16 score.
The Knights did not look back thereafter inspired by James Amoyoe, their best player, as they went on to blow the Legends away in an emphatic style en route to a convincing win and a place in the final.
Knights to face Falcons
The stage is now set for another super clash in the final with Ghana's Knights to take on Nigerian champions Kwara Falcons.
Falcons proved they are indeed the champions of the country with a hard-fought 57-67 win over Rivers Hoopers in the second final of the day.
The Falcons were stubborn and held their own against the star-studded Rivers side/
