The Boston Celtics rallied late to defeat the Indiana Pacers, securing their place in the NBA finals for the second time in three years.

The Boston Celtics clinched the Eastern Conference championship in a dramatic comeback, defeating the Indiana Pacers 105-102 on Tuesday morning, ensuring their spot in the NBA finals for the second time in three years.

This victory holds particular significance as the Celtics are the favorite team of former Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In the dying moments of the game, Derrick White's pivotal three-pointer with just 43 seconds remaining on the clock not only gave Boston the lead but also highlighted their resilient spirit throughout the series.

White contributed significantly with 16 points, but it was Jaylen Brown who led the scoring for Boston with 29 points.

"We knew the stakes and the kind of pressure we were under. We had to dig deep, and that's what champions do," Brown said after the game as per NBA.

His sentiment was echoed by teammate Jayson Tatum, who added 26 points, 13 rebounds, and eight assists.

"It was about not giving up, even when things weren't going our way. That shot by Derrick was a game-changer," Tatum remarked.

The Celtics are now set to face the winner of the Dallas-Minnesota series, with Dallas currently leading 3-0.

As Boston eyes the championship, they continue to draw strength from their ability to overturn deficits, as demonstrated by erasing a nine-point lag in the second half against the Pacers.

Indiana's struggle was compounded by the absence of their two-time All-Star Tyrese Haliburton.

Despite this, Andrew Nembhard stepped up with 24 points and 10 assists.

Pacers coach Rick Carlisle praised his team's tenacity, stating, "Our young team fought hard. It's tough to swallow the loss, but I'm proud of how we handled ourselves."

The match was not without its tense moments, notably in the third quarter when tempers flared between Myles Turner of the Pacers and Boston's Jaylen Brown.

Both players received technical fouls following a brief scuffle. This incident, however, did not overshadow the intense competitiveness that defined the series.

As the final seconds ticked down, Boston's strategic play shone through.

Tatum's missed three-pointer could have been a turning point for Indiana but Jrue Holiday secured the rebound and ran down the clock sealing the win for the Celtics.
