James achieved the incredible milestone on Tuesday, sinking a 25-foot three-pointer against the New Orleans Pelicans to move to 50,002 points.

The Arena crowd cheered as James cemented his status as the league's all-time leading scorer.

The 40-year-old NBA icon has been in good form this season, leading the Lakers to a six-game winning streak and propelling the team to second place in the Western Conference standings.

James' achievement extends his lead as the league's record scorer, with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's previous record of 38,387 points now a distant memory. James is nearly 6,000 points clear of Abdul-Jabbar's total career points tally of 44,149.

James' milestone comes on the heels of another record-breaking achievement, as he became the oldest player to win a Player of the Month award after being named Western Conference Player of the Month for February.
