Nigeria vs Cameroon - Wilder wants to take on Ngannou in Africa.
American professional boxer Deontay Wilder has reiterated his intentions to fight Cameroonian-French professional mixed martial artist Francis Ngannou.
Wilder made this known while in Saudi Arabia for the mega fight between internet sensations Tommy Fury and Jake Paul.
While in the desert, Wilder met up with stakeholders to propose the possibility of his first fight in the region.
Speaking to Top Rank Boxing at the event, He said, "You know what brings me out here is the atmosphere of the people a little business a little entertainment.
"Let's be clear the Middle East is where it's happening and it seems like it's developing more and more with the interest of boxing.
"I'm still trying to get two fights for sure or three."
Wilder vs Ngannou in Africa
Wilder the former World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight champion in a separate interview teased that the fight with Ngannou is up next.
Since Ngannou left the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) he has expressed his desire to compete with the best heavyweight boxers.
Wilder has since reached out on social media for a two-fight deal for boxing and MMA.
At the event, Wilder also spoke with Fight Hub TV where he expressed his willingness to take the fight.
Wilder then went on to state that Saudi Arabia and the African continent are potential destinations for the proposed fight.
He said, “I may be fighting between May and June, and then December.”
“Ngannou is a real discussion, it is a real discussion. We are trying to do a two-fight deal, one maybe here [Saudi Arabia] and the other one in Africa.”
A potential fight in Africa means Wilder who claims to be of Nigerian descent stokes the rivalry with Cameroon where Ngannou was born.
There are no details yet as to when the fight could happen but Wilder suggests his two fights will be in May/June and December.
The WBC has already ordered Wilder to face off against former Mexican heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz for the mandatory spot to champion Tyson Fury.
A fight against Ngannou takes him out of contention and changes the landscape f the heavyweight division once again,
