English professional boxer of Nigerian descent Anthony Joshua is reportedly struggling with ticket sales ahead of his return to the ring.
The 33-year-old suffered back-to-back losses to Ukrainian professional boxer Oleksandr Usyk.
Usyk defeated Joshua to claim the IBF, IBO, WBA, and WBO heavyweight championships in front of a packed crowd at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
In the rematch, Joshua put up a better performance but Usyk prevailed by a split decision in Saudi Arabia.
Tickets for Joshua and Franklin
Joshua decided to take a break from boxing following back-to-back defeats to Usyk.
Since the second fight against Usyk, Joshua parted ways with coach Robert Garcia.
He then traveled to the United States of America (USA) to team up with popular boxing trainer Derrick James.
Joshua is now set to return to the ring against American professional boxer Jermaine Franklin.
New reports have now indicated that ticket sales for the fight have not been going smoothly.
Three weeks before the fight, a report by Boxing Social indicated that Matchroom boxing have been struggling with ticket sales.
Matchroom boxing have already made assurances that tickets will be sold out before the fight.
Joshua takes a step down from fighting in packed stadiums to returning to the 20,000-capacity 02 Arena in London for the fight against Franklin.
The fight between Joshua and Franklin is scheduled for Saturday, April 1, 2023.
