Nigeria's Anthony Joshua will no longer fight Dillian Whyte in a rematch due to VADA adverse findings.

There is an update on the heavyweight fight between Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte.

The rematch between British heavyweight stars Joshua and Whyte has now been confirmed to be canceled through a statement on Saturday, August 5, 2023.

Just seven days before the event was scheduled to happen, Eddie Hearn declared that the bout is off following the update, with a thorough investigation to follow.

Statement canceling Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte rematch

The statement by Hearn read: "Today the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) informed Matchroom, the Association of Boxing Commissions and the British Boxing Board of Control that Dillian Whyte had returned adverse analytical findings as part of a random anti-doping protocol.

"In light of this news, the fight will be cancelled, and a full investigation will be conducted. Further information on the event will follow."

Before Joshua earned his professional retribution by knocking out Whyte in a tense 2015 British title battle, they boxed as amateurs, a match that Whyte won.

Anthony Joshua defeated Dillian Whyte to capture the heavyweight Commonwealth and British belts in 2015.

But even though Joshua went on to become a world heavyweight champion, Whyte was unable to do the same.

Joshua recently stated that he wishes he was still champion ahead of facing Whyte for a second time and it is now unknown what will happen if a replacement is brought in.
