Tyson Fury ignores Anthony Joshua: Retires from boxing for the 2nd time
In a shocking twist, Tyson Fury retires from boxing for the 2nd time, and ignores massive money fight with Anthony Joshua.
Less than a month after losing to three-belt heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk for the second time in a row, "The Gypsy King" revealed the news on social media Monday in a mysterious video message.
This year, Anthony Joshua's promoter hoped to get Fury in the "biggest fight in history."
During an IFL TV appearance, Eddie Hearn learned that Fury had quit combat sports.
He said, “I saw that coming. Yeah, I saw that coming.
“If you ever wanna come back and get the max, you’ve got to retire first, haven’t you? Someone has got to bring you out of retirement.
“If that’s the last we see of Tyson Fury, good luck to him. I doubt it, personally, but whatever he chooses to do much respect for him.
“I think he’ll wanna fight again. I think he’ll get bored. I think he’ll know that the British public wanna see the AJ fight. My personal belief is, we’ll see him in the ring again.
“If he wants to retire, there’s nothing we can do about it. If he’s up for the challenge.
"If he’s up for the biggest fight in the sport, great! But we can’t dictate what Tyson Fury does.”
Frank Warren, Tyson Fury's promoter, was unaware that his famous client would announce his retirement.
Warren wishes the heavyweight legend the best of luck as he gets ready for life after fighting, even if Fury's announcement of retirement took him aback.
