English professional boxer of Nigerian descent Anthony Oluwafemi Joshua is under pressure to win when he returns to the ring in 2023.

Joshua is set to take on American professional boxer Jermaine Franklin at the 02 Arena in London, United Kingdom.

According to several reports, Joshua is struggling with ticket sales for the 20,000 capacity ahead of his return to the ring.

Joshua has previously sold out the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, London's Wembley Stadium, and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and now struggling to sell out Srena's.

British sports promoter and chairman of Matchroom boxing Edward Hearn is under pressure to get off all tickets before the fight.

Hearn in an interview with IFL TV explained that there is massive pressure on Joshua to get a victory against Franklin.

Joshua suffered back-to-back defeats against Ukrainian professional boxer Oleksandr Usyk in 2021 and 2022.

Hearn in the interview explained the importance of a victory to rebuilding Joshua's career hence the pressure that comes with the fight against Franklin'

He said,  “I’m nervous, because you look at Jermaine Franklin – he looks like a new man! He’s done about 30lbs, he’s absolutely flying in camp and that’s what you get, they step up.”

“‘AJ’ must win this fight, and I believe he wins this fight. But I don’t think it’s going to be easy. All the pressure is on him in this fight, and that is nerve-racking.”

Franklin comes into the fight against Joshua after a tough 12-round battle against Dillian Whyte last November.

Joshua has stated his intention to become a three-time heavyweight boxing champion.

After dismissing Robert Garcia, Joshua has been training with new coach Derrick James in Dallas Texas, United States of America (USA).

He starts his redemption tour against Franklin on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at the 02 Arena in London.
