Anthony Joshua destroys Otto Wallin
Before the main event, New Zealand's Joseph Parker decisively defeated Deontay Wilder, eliminating him from contention for a long-awaited rematch with Joshua.
After more than six years of planning, victories by Joshua and Wilder were meant to build up a major fight on March 9.
Joshua was at ease with the jab, which was sufficient to dictate the action against Wallin, who was never able to establish an aggressive rhythm.
Wallin was never able to respond to the weapon, which set up straight right hands for the former heavyweight champion.
Joshua was able to hit a clean right hand to the body in addition to maintaining his accuracy with the jab.
By stepping up his attack, Joshua was able to gash the Swedish southpaw Wallin's right eye and bloody his nose.
The only strikes Wallin had any real success with were arm strikes, but Joshua threw his right hand with tremendous conviction.
Joshua would rock him with a straight right hand and a left hook to the chin, making things considerably worse for him.
As Wallin ended a six-fight winning streak, head trainer Joey Gamache had seen enough and told referee Steve Gray that his man was done for the evening.
The only other fight he lost was to Tyson Fury of England, whom he had stopped early in their September 2019 fight on his way to losing by unanimous decision after twelve rounds.
