Garcia promises a knockout victory against Davis.
The biggest boxing fight of the year between superstars Ryan Garcia and Gervonta "Tank" Davis is set for Las Vegas.
After several years of social media insults, Garcia and Davis met face to face at a press conference on Wednesday, March 8, 2023.
Garcia was at the press conference on time but there were issues as Davis showed up 50 minutes
Garcia slammed Davis for his lack of professionalism as the introductions were made to a packed crowd in New York, United States of America (USA).
Garcia promises to knock out Davis
Garcia stated that Davis showing up late is a result of an absence of respect which he intends to correct when they take to the ring.
He said, "Look at how he represents himself, he's not even here,” he said to the Showtime broadcast before taking to the stage. “It's been over an hour. It's unprofessional.
"We've gotta rush this promotion for your little issue, so why aren't you here? Show that respect for the promotion and the event, boxing for that part. It just shows his character and integrity."
Garcia then went on to state that the has violent intentions for Davis once they meet in the ring.
He explained that he has been aiming for this fight for a long time and has all the advantages against Davis.
Garcia added, “This is the super fight of the year. Boxing needs to return to the best fighting the best, and I’m bringing back that hype, that glamor, and a new generation of fans to this beautiful sport.
"Tank is shorter than me, slower than me, older than me, and he knows it. He’s been ducking me for months, but now he’s all out of excuses. It’s time for him to get knocked out.”
The fight between Garcia and Davis is set for the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday, April 22, 2023.
