BOXING Sarah Achieng’s fight moved from Mombasa to Nairobi
The 'Angel of War' will face Argentina's Edith Soledad Matthysse for the vacant World Boxing Foundation (WBF) super lightweight women's world title.
She has promised a great fight and bullishly said that everything will come out victorious since she will be fighting on home soil.
“Everything is going to come out victoriously on our side. This is my territory and Soledad is going to meet the Angel of War. I am promising fireworks,” a confident Achieng said.
Meanwhile, the Kenya Professional Boxing chairman Reuben Ndolo called on the government to support boxing.
He lamented that boxing is slowly being forgotten and in no time, there might not be room for the sport to grow in the country.
“If we are not going to be careful, boxing will go down…let us be frank. The government will need to pull up their socks and start-up academies that will grow the talent,” he warned.
