Africa Boxing Union (ABU) East and Central Africa Super middleweight champion Shadir Musa Bwogi could return from Serpukhov City, Russia, Shs55m richer if he overcomes Uzbekistan boxer Odiljon Aslonov in a non-title fight organised by the International Boxing Association.
IBA has announced mouthwatering cash prizes for the fight night dubbed "IBA Night of Champions" in which winners will walk away with $15,000 (about Shs55m) and losers $10,000 (about Shs35m).
The development means Bwogi is already assured of Shs35m before stepping into the ring.
A spirited challenge over Aslanov will see the Ugandan walk home with the biggest prize, Shs55m, a significant payday in his budding professional career.
"A total of $225,000 prize money is at stake in the nine-bout card at the International Boxing Association (IBA) Champions Night tomorrow, August 26, in Serpukhov, Russia,” AFBC Communications stated.
