Cricket Cranes join four other Ugandan senior national teams to qualify for a World Cup in history
The fact that it's only five Ugandan national senior teams to make it to a world cup across various sports disciplines, makes the Cricket Cranes' milestone even tastier.
The biggest is the absence of all-rounder Phionah Kulume. Gloria Obukor has also missed out on the team.
However, the sensational teenage pair of Lorna Anyait and Malisa Ariokot, who debuted for the national team in June at the Kwibuka in Rwanda, have made the cut.
Having missed the Kibuka, the duo of Esther Iloku and Sarah Akiteng have made a return.
Meanwhile, the Lawrence Ssematimba-coached team will be captained by Consy Aweko.
For the qualifiers, the Victoria Pearls will tussle it out with the likes of Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda.
The Pearls take on Rwanda in their first match at the Green Oval, Entebbe, this Sunday.
Two top teams will make it to the final qualifiers set for Dubai before reaching the finals slated for Bangladesh.
