Nigeria's Junior Female Yellow Greens concluded their preparations for the 2025 ICC Women's U-19 World Cup with a dominant seven-wicket victory over Scotland on Wednesday at the Royal Selangor Club in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The impressive win serves as a strong message to their World Cup opponents.
Winning the toss and electing to field first, Nigeria's bowlers put on a commanding performance.
Led by Sarah Bhakita, they restricted Scotland to just 62 runs in 18.2 overs. Lillian Ude was the standout bowler, taking three wickets, while Shola Adekunle claimed two.

In the chase, Captain Piety led from the front with a quickfire 28 not out from just 16 balls, including three sixes. Victory Igbinedion, fresh off a strong performance against Pakistan two days prior, also contributed with 25 runs, helping Nigeria secure the comfortable victory.

The victory over Scotland, who are ranked 11th in the world (14 places above Nigeria), follows a near upset against the eighth-ranked Pakistan on Monday.
Nigeria's World Cup campaign begins on Saturday, January 18, against fellow debutants Samoa at the Borneo Cricket Ground in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.
They will then face New Zealand on Monday, January 20, followed by their final group game against South Africa two days later.
