Rita Musamali and Stephanie Nampiina got the Pearls out of their early slump, a woeful start that saw Kevin Awino, Proscovia Alako and Janet Mbabazi get dismissed inside the powerplay.

After clean-bowling Tanzania's Fatuma Kibasu, sensational teenager Lorna Anyait got Victoria Pearls' maiden wicket on the day.

She was after that pivotal in Uganda's second wicket as she caught Monica Iddi facing Janet Mbabazi, who was impressive late on in the game.

The latter would go on to add two more in over 16, as Musamali managed three wickets of her own.

With four balls remaining, skipper Consy Aweko, who had struggled earlier on, put the seal to the hard-fought victory with a clean bowl.

While Uganda is already through to the global qualifiers, they will be keen on winnig the final against Zimbabwe on Sunday in Entebbe.
