Namibia won the toss, elected to bat, and was limited to 77/7 after 20 overs.

The Victoria Pearls beat the hosts Namibia by four wickets on Monday afternoon to book a final berth in the Capricorn Eagles Quadrangular series.

Namibia won the toss, elected to bat, and was limited to 77/7 after 20 overs.

The Victoria Pearls fielded well, with Irene Olumo and captain Consy Aweko each picking up two wickets apiece for 10 and 16 runs, respectively.

At the same time, Sarah Akiteng and Janet Mbabazi also managed a wicket apiece.

The Namibians struggled with the bat, with only two players hitting double figures. Adri Van Der Merwe managed 21(33), while Wilka Mwatile was 27(34) not out.

Uganda’s chase saw Kevin Awino post 28(48) while Phiona Kulume 20(23) and Consy Aweko 11(10) not out helped Uganda post 79/6 in 17.3 overs as Uganda claimed a four-wicket victory.

Betty Chan’s three wickets for 14 runs and Ruchitha Venkatesk’s three wickets for eight runs slowed Uganda down, but it wasn’t enough to avoid defeat.

Head coach Lawrence Ssematimba was impressed with the batting but stressed a need to improve in the final.

“We bowled well and limited Namibia in the first innings,” Ssematimba started before adding.

“But we are still struggling a bit with the batting; now that we’ve reached the final, I hope the girls step up, and we win the game.”

The Victoria Pearls will now face Namibia again in the final on Tuesday afternoon as the Capricorn Eagles Quadrangular series come to an end.
