Ecuador star Moises Caicedo has said that he is not worried or concerned over reports linking him away from Brighton this month.
Caicedo is one of the most in-demand players in the transfer market this window, with Premier League clubs interested in his services.
Chelsea are reportedly leading the race for Caicedo but the Blues also face a battle from Arsenal for the 21-year-old.
Caicedo not interested in Chelsea move
But despite the interest from these two Premier League giants, Caicedo is not concerned about his future.
The ex-Beerschot midfielder insists he is only focused on his time at Brighton, saying he is not thinking about the reports.
“I am focussed on Brighton,” he said. “I am here, I’m playing every day. Things from outside don’t trouble me, nor does it take that focus away because I’m focussed only on here,” Caicedo told Brighton website.
The Ecuador international also hinted that he would stay at the club because it offers him a chance to play regularly.
“I handle [the speculation] well. You hear rumours here and there, but I only try to be focused on the club where I am now, the club which opened the doors for me to be playing every week,” he added.
Caicedo at Brighton
Caicedo has been a key player for Brighton since he made his debut for the club in 2022. This season, the 21-year-old has been one of the club’s stand-out performers, with 18 appearances to his name.
The 21-year-old has only spent two years at the Amex stadium, having joined the club on a five-year deal in 2021.
Caicedo signed a three-year deal with the Seagulls, meaning he still has two years left on his contract. However, the 21-year-old could still leave the club before the close of the transfer window, with Chelsea lurking.
It remains to be seen if Brighton will bulge and accept an offer from a rival club should one arrive. The Seagulls have already lost one of their star players in Leandro Trossard, who recently joined Arsenal.
