Nigerian striker Terem Moffi has joined OGC Nice from FC Lorient
OGC Nice have confirmed the signing of Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi on a four-and-half-year deal from FC Lorient.
The confirmation brings an end to a January-long transfer saga involving a host of French clubs and two English clubs namely West Ham and Southampton.
Lorient accepted Nice's sixth transfer offer for Moffi which is worth €30 million including bonuses after previously rejecting six bids from the club.
Terem Moffi signs for OGC Nice
Moffi has been consistent in his desire to join OGC Nice since the start of the transfer window when he reportedly agreed personal terms with the club.
The 23-year-old reportedly turned down multiple eligible suitors and potentially more glamourous destinations most notably Marseille in favour of Nice.
Lorient accepted Marseille's player-plus-cash offer which would have seen them receive a substantial fee and Bamba Dieng as a direct replacement but Moffi rejected the move.
The prolific Nigerian leaves Lorient who are sixth in Ligue 1 thanks to his goals to join 10th-placed OGC Nice where he will hope to continue his red-hot form this season.
Moffi scored 12 goals in 18 games for Lorient before leaving the club which is so far the second-highest tally in the league, bettered only by Paris Saint Germain's Kylian Mbappe.
Terem Moffi joined Lorient in October 2020 from Kortrijk and has since scored 35 goals in 90 games for Les Merlus across all competitions in two-and-half seasons.
