Graham Potter praised his team after their convincing victory over Leicester City.
Chelsea manager, Graham Potter has lauded his side following their victory against Leicester which served as their third consecutive win in all competitions, saying it has been a really positive week for them.
Chelsea beat Leicester City 3-1 at the King Power stadium, grabbing consecutive victories in the league for the first time since October.
Chelsea turning the corner
In the 11th minute of the game, Ben Chillwell gave Chelsea the lead. Joao Felix appeared to have extended the advantage in the 35th minute, but VAR disallowed it for offside.
Patson Daka brought Leicester back into the game in the 39th minute, but Havertz ensured Chelsea had the advantage going into halftime with a goal in the sixth minute of first-half stoppage time.
Chelsea's triumph was assured by a Kovacic goal in the 78th minute, and Leicester's problems were made worse when Wout Faes was dismissed in the 87th.
Speaking to Skysports after the victory, Potter, pleased with his team's current run of form explained that it has been a positive week for them with victories against Leeds, Dortmund and now Leicester.
He expressed his elation, saying winning three consecutive games at the level Chelsea compete at was not easy, and he says his team will look to consolidate on it when they play Everton next weekend.
"It's been a really positive week for us,” Potter said, per the BBC.
“Three wins against Leeds, Dortmund and today says a lot about the development of the team. It's a hard-fought game as they always are but in the end, I thought we deserved to win."
"Three wins in the week at this level is very pleasing. Now we have to follow that up with a win next weekend and then into the international break. We will try to get three points against Everton."
Potter on Leicester
The home crowd were tough on Chilwell, who used to play for them, and with his goal, Potter thought he responded perfectly to the jeers.
He further explained that his team did not have it all their way, as Leicester put up a decent shift, however, his team showed good character and quality to ensure they grabbed all three points.
"Ben answered it in the perfect way, it was one of those games where the home crowd made it difficult but they handled it well”
“It wasn't a straightforward game, Leicester had chances and we had to suffer but that will get better as we keep going.”
Chelsea host Everton next week at Stamford Bridge, as they look to make it three in three for the Premier League, and four consecutive victories in all competitions.
