Enyimba started the State final well, piling early pressure on the non-league side and almost got their opener, however, early attempts from both Ikenna Cooper and Eze Ekwutoziam could only come off the posts.

The Aba giants finally broke the deadlock in the 43rd minute with a perfect counterattack that ended with NPFL February player of the month Chukwuemeka Obioma, teeing off Moses Omoduemuke.
