Brighton are set to offer star winger Kaoru Mitoma a new long-term contract at the club to reward him for brilliant performances and keep out potential suitors.
Kaoru Mitoma has been a revelation this season for Brighton. A crowd-pleasing talent who approaches the game in a fearless manner and has lit up the Amex stadium consistently.
He is enjoying a breakout campaign that has yielded six goals in 12 starts as the Seagulls have mounted an unlikely top-four charge.
Mitoma has been in fine form for Brighton
The 25-year-old has been in sparkling form since the start of 2023 with a combined 8 goals and assists from the left wing.
He also scored a famous FA Cup winner against Liverpool at the Amex Stadium to knock the holders out of the competition.
Brighton prepare contract offer for Mitoma
According to a report from 90min football, Initial talks between Brighton and Mitoma's representatives are underway regarding a long-term extension, and there is optimism from both parties that a deal will be agreed soon.
Mitoma himself is said to be delighted with the possibility of signing an extension.
Arsenal showed interest in Mitoma during the January transfer window, but the Seagulls made it clear he was not for sale, unlike Leandro Trossard, who was allowed to move to Emirates Stadium.
