Super Eagles hopeful Gift Orban has received plaudits from Gent coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck.
Gent head coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck has showered praise on his new star striker Gift Orban for his superb goalscoring form this season.
The 20-year-old has enjoyed a great start to life in Belgium with nine goals in eight games since joining the club for €3.3 million.
Gift Orban hailed by Gent coach
Gent coach Vanhaezebrouck told Voetbal Nieuws that he believes in Orban's finishing abilities and jailed the player's eye for goals.
“Last season he made 22 appearances across all competitions in Norway,” the 59-year-old manager said on Orban's form at his former club Stabaek.
Vanhaezebrouck continued “If you let him start the season, he is a guarantee of 20, 25 goals across all competitions.”
“Finishing is fun for him. Right, left, he doesn’t care,” the Belgian manager rounded up his plaudits for Orban.
Gift Orban making waves in Belgium
Since his move to Gent, Orban has the best goal-game ratio in Europes’s top ten leagues with seven goals in just five Belgian.
The 20-year-old impressed for his former club Stabaek, scoring 16 goals in 22 OBOS Ligaen games, but many did not expect him to exactly hit the ground running especially as he was moving from a lower division to a Belgian top-flight club.
He has since surpassed all expectations by settling in at Gent straight away with nine goals in eight games across all competitions.
Four of his goals came on Sunday when Gent smashed Zulte Waregem 6-2 in a Belgian Pro League game.
