Peter Olayinka went from hero to villain as he scored a goal before receiving a sending-off. Victor Olatunji was on the other side grabbing a late equaliser.
Slavia Prague dominated for most of the game but fell behind first. They completed a comeback but were hit with a numerical disadvantage that left them open to a late equaliser to end the game 2-2.
Slovan Liberec hosted Slavia at the U Nisy stadium, and when it looked like they had the game lost, a Nigerian on the other side handed them a lifeline, and their Nigerian striker capitalised to earn them a point
Lukas Cerv gave the hosts the lead in the 25th minute, but Peter Olayinka equalized on the half-hour mark to bring his team back into the game.
Mick Van Buren thought he gave Slavia the winner before Olayinka's red card in the 88th minute was capitalised on by Victor Olatunji, who grabbed a 95th-minute equaliser for Slovan.
How it happened
Slavia Prague has a mission: regaining their league lead from their neighbours Sparta Prague, and they started the game with that purpose.
They were up against a tough opponent in Slovan Liberec, who were buoyed by the home crowd.
Slavia controlled the game but could not find the back of the net before a period of dominance by the host was rewarded by a brilliantly finished goal by Cerv.
Slovan pushed to double their lead and were rather close, but they could not achieve it.
Slavia regained control and got their equaliser five minutes later thanks to Olayinka, who fired for his ninth goal of the campaign.
The game ebbed and flowed from then on, with an end-to-end feel, but Slavia had more of the ball and created clearer chances.
They finally got their noses in front halfway through the second half through a penalty, which was finished effortlessly by Mick Van Buren.
The work Slavia had done the whole game was undone when Peter Olayinka was shown a straight red.
23-year-old Nigerian striker Victor Olatunji made the most of Slovan's numerical advantage, earning them a late point.
