Barcelona's Ronald Araujo would love to play with Messi again for Barcelona
Barcelona’s ace defender Ronald Araujo has spoken of his desire for Catalan legend Lionel Messi to return to the club when his Paris Saint-Germain contract ends in the summer.
Ronald Araujo would love to play with Messi again
Araujo who played with Messi for two seasons before the Argentine moved to PSG, has said that a reunion would benefit both Barcelona and Messi and hoped that both parties would be able to make it work.
Messi left Barcelona for Paris after 21 years in the City following a wage dispute as the Catalan giants’ financial troubles meant that they were unable to afford their captain’s salary at the time, but Araujo feels that the door to Messi should never be closed and hopes that a reunion is on the cards.
Messi could return to Barcelona
Speaking to Infobae ahead of the all-important El Clasico fixture against Real Madrid, the Uruguayan defender said “I’d love Messi to return. He is the best player in the world and Barcelona is his home. His return would help us to try to win another Champions League”
“I hope there are every chance to have him again. We all want him by our side”
With his contract set to expire at the end of the current season, Messi is yet to sign an extension with PSG which has led to speculation that a return to Camp Nou could be on the cards, and even though it would represent a large financial outlay, Barcelona have not ruled out the option.
