The Blues have joined the race to sign the in-demand Super Eagles star and are ready to offer one of their players to Napoli.
Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen has emerged as a transfer target for Chelsea, who are ready to offer player plus cash for the Nigerian striker.
Osimhen is attracting interest from Europe’s top clubs following his incredible performance for Napoli this season.
Osimhen the goal king
The Super Eagles star is having his best individual season yet, having scored 24 goals for Napoli in 29 games.
Osimhen is currently Serie A’s top scorer with 21 goals in 24 games, while he also has four goals in five Champions League games this season.
The Super Eagles star’s form has now caught the attention, with the likes of Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Manchester City all linked to his services.
Chelsea to offer Pulisic plus cash for Osimhen
However, it appears Chelsea have now jumped ahead of the queue, with reports saying the Blues are ready to make a move for the Nigeria international.
The Blues are expected to be in the market for a quality striker, and they believe Osimhen fits the profile of a player who can lead their attacking line.
Gossip: Nkunku to Chelsea confirmed, Osimhen to Manchester City
According to Calciomercato, Chelsea are ready to offer Christian Pulisic plus cash to Napoli for the services of their top striker.
Although Napoli will only sell Osimhen for a ridiculous offer, the Blues believe they can convince the Neapolitans to sell with their Pulisic plus cash offer.
Pulisic joined Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund in 2019, but he has failed to justify the fee the club paid for him.
The Blues are now ready to cut their losses by offering him to Napoli for Osimhen. It remains to be seen, however, if Napoli will be willing to accept the offer.
The Neapolitans view Osimhen as their most-prized asset and have always maintained that he is not for sale.
Osimhen still has two years left on his contract, having joined Napoli from Lille in 2020 for a club-record fee of €75.00m.
