The Premier League champions are sweating on the fitness of their star striker ahead of their Premier League clash against Liverpool.
Manchester City could be without their star striker Erling Haaland ahead of their must-win Premier League clash against Liverpool.
Man City face Liverpool in their first game after the break as they attempt to overtake Arsenal in the race for the Premier League title.
Haaland blow for Manchester City
The game against Liverpool is a match City cannot afford to lose as they are currently eight points behind Arsenal with a game in hand.
However, they are likely to be without their star striker Haaland for the game after the former Borussia Dortmund striker picked up an injury on international duty.
Haaland was called up to Norway’s squad for the Euro 2024 qualifiers against Spain and Georgia but has been forced to withdraw from the squad after picking up an injury in training.
The 22-year-old reportedly picked up a groin injury in training and was forced to withdraw from the two matches.
Manchester City sweating on Haaland's fitness
Haaaland’s injury is a potential blow for Man City ahead of the big game against Liverpool on April 1st.
The ex-RB Salzburg has been a sensation in his first season at City, with 42 goals and five assists in 37 games.
Haaland has 28 goals in the Premier League and he is just four goals away from breaking the record for most goals in a single season in a 38-game window.
City are currently in contention for a treble thanks to the Norwegian striker’s goals. However, Pep Guardiola’s men may have to be without the 22-year-old for the big game against Liverpool.
It is not just the Liverpool game that Haaland is in danger of missing. The Norway international could also miss the Champions League quarter-final clash against Bayern Munich.
Should Haaland be ruled out for a couple of weeks, Argentina’s World Cup winner Julian Alvarez will likely come in to replace him.
