Manchester United are in the market for a new goalkeeper for next season and have their sights set on one of Serie A's best shot-stoppers.
Manchester United are unsure about the long-term future of David de Gea and are reportedly looking to bring in a solid replacement if the Spaniard chooses to move on in the summer.
Manchester United want Onana
According to La Gazzeta dello Sport, 27-year-old Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana has emerged as the leading candidate for United boss Ten Hag.
De Gea's current contract at Old Trafford expires in June 2023 and there has been no breakthrough in talks over a new deal. Should the Spaniard decide to depart, United will be left with Dean Henderson who has also set his sights on a move elsewhere.
Onana knows Ten Hag well from their time together at Ajax and United certainly have the financial capability to tempt Inter Milan into a sale.
A move to the Premier League might prove to be too hard to turn down for Onana, especially with the Red Devils likely returning to the Champions League next season.
