Real Madrid are set to hand a one-year extension to one of their most influential players in recent years
Real Madrid veteran midfielder Toni Kroos is set to extend his contract at the club by one more year, which will see him remain with the LaLiga giants until at least 2024.
Kroos set to extend successful Real Madrid stay
Kroos joined Los Blancos in 2014 from Bayern Munich shortly after lifting the World Cup with Germany and has been an integral part of Real Madrid’s successes since his arrival.
He has helped Real Madrid to three LaLiga titles and four UEFA Champions League wins in his stay at the club and has always been a key member of the squads that achieved success during his time in the Spanish capital.
Kroos formed an incredible midfield partnership with Luka Modric and Casemiro to bring victory to Real Madrid, and now it looks like he will be afforded more time to keep doing just that.
33-year-old Kroos set for new contract despite Madrid looking to the future
Kroos’ current deal with Real Madrid is set to expire at the end of the 2022/23 season but reports claim that the German midfield maestro could be set for a new deal that will last until the end of next season.
With Real Madrid looking to rebuild their midfield for the future with the acquisition of players like Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelin Tchouameni, many have doubted he continuity of Kroos who is 33 and Modric who is 37, but the pair continue to show how important they can be to the team, hence the extension for the World Cup winner.
