13 year old, Abdulrahman makes NLO debut

Abdulrahman became the youngest player in history to feature in the Nationwide League One game

13-year-old Abdullahi Abdulrahman has become the youngest player to feature in the Nationwide League One game between Capital City FC and Supreme Court at the Area 3 Pitch in Abuja.

Abdulrahman is the son of former Flying Eagles team coordinator Mallam Abdulrahman Umar Baba.

Abdullahi is a student at Excellent Secondary School in Zuba and is currently in Junior Secondary School Class 3 (JSS 3).

A Dream come true for Abdullahi

Abdullah revealed that playing the game and learning that he is the youngest player in NLO Division One history was a dream come true for him.

He said, “It was a dream come true for me and I can't express the joy in me this feat because I have been hoping to play at the level since I started playing football at the age of 5 years and I want to thank my teammates for helping me to achieve my dream.

“I am really sad that we lost the league game but I believe that it's football, where three results can be gathered either win, lose, or draw we have lost but for me that is football we will keep working hard for the future”.

Meanwhile, the father of Abdullahi Mallam Abdulrahman Umar Baba described his son's history-making as a day of happiness for him looking at the efforts, he has been putting into playing football.

Umar Baba is the President of Capital City FC Abuja said further that he is proud of his son.

“I am a happy father seeing my son making his league debut in the NLO Division One and for him also becoming the youngest ever at his age to play a league game. Let me tell you, this is a boy who at least trains three times a week and is doing perfectly well in his academics, so you can see the joy in me as a proud father”.

Capital City only are nine points with the result of the games on Monday will determine the final grouping of the table.
