The Barcelona prodigy will get a large payout if La Roja beat England in the 2024 Euros final

As Spain face England in the 2024 European Championship final, the stakes are incredibly high for each player in the winning squad.

La Roja has made it to their first European final since their victory in Euro 2012, thanks to a stellar performance throughout the tournament, winning all six matches in the competition so far, establishing themselves as favourites to lift the trophy in Berlin on July 15.

Financial rewards at stake for Spain and England

Beyond the glory of being crowned European champions, there is a significant financial incentive for the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and the players. According to UEFA, the maximum bonus for a trophy-winning team is €28.25 million.

With Spain maintaining a perfect record, they are poised to receive the full amount and reports from Mundo Deportivo confirm that a pre-tournament agreement allocates 30% of this bonus to the squad, which increases to 40% if they win the title.

This means de la Fuente’s 26-man squad would share €11.3 million, equating to approximately €400,000 (₦700 million) per player, with a portion also going to de la Fuente and his coaching staff.

Yamal's potential windfall

Among the players set to benefit from this financial windfall is 17-year-old Lamine Yamal, who could become the youngest player to participate in the final of a Euros or World Cup.

The young prodigy has played a crucial role in Spain's success, scoring in the semifinal against France and providing three assists along the way.

The Barcelona starlet and his Spain teammates stand to receive a substantial bonus if Spain win, giving them an extra motive to complete the perfect tournament when they play England on Sunday.
