The Super Falcons defender swapped France for Turkey after ending her romance with Stade de Reims.

Nigerian international and Super Falcons defender Tosin Demehin has officially announced her exit from French Ligue 1 side Stade de Reims Féminines after a two-year stint.

The talented defender is set to continue her European journey in Turkey, joining the same Galatasaray that house Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen.

Demehin took to social media to share the news with her followers, expressing gratitude for her time in France.

Her heartfelt message came just days before she made her debut for her new Turkish club in a thrilling four-goal UEFA Women's Champions League (UWCL) encounter against Slavia Prag.

In her farewell message, Demehin stated:

"After amazing years & seasons in Reims, I want to thank everyone for the opportunity to share and be part of those moments with you. To the fans, thank you for the support through difficult and simple times. Reims is a special place and now I understand what Remoises means. I wish everyone another successful and amazing season."

Demehin made 26 appaearances for the French club.

Demehin's journey to European football began in 2022 when she joined Stade de Reims from Nigeria Women's Football League side, Rivers Angels.

Her move to France came on the heels of an impressive performance for the Falconets in the FIFA U20 Women's World Cup in Costa Rica, which attracted several offers from European clubs.

Demehin will link up with recently unveiled Nigerian Forward Victor Osimhen at Galatasaray.

During her time with Reims, Demehin made 26 appearances and scored one goal, establishing herself as a reliable defender in the French top flight.

Her solid performances at the club level also earned her a spot in the Super Falcons squad for the historic 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup campaign and the team that secured qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Demehin came on as a second half substitute against Slavia Prag.

Her transfer highlights the growing trend of Nigerian talents making waves across various European leagues, following in the footsteps of stars like Osimhen, and Victor Boniface amongst others.

With her debut already under her belt in a high-scoring UWCL match, Demehin seems poised to make an immediate impact in Turkish football, carrying forward the momentum from her successful spell in France.
