'Hardest position' - Liverpool legend feels sorry for Man United player who received 6 passes against Wolves
A Liverpool legend has empathised with a Manchester United forward after their latest defeat to Wolves.
In doing so, he became only the fourth player in Premier League history to reach 250 goal contributions, joining an elite rank of legends like Manchester United icons Wayne Rooney (276), Ryan Giggs (271), and Tottenham’s Harry Kane (259).
Mohamed Salah inspires Liverpool
Salah's performance proved key again for Arne Slot as Liverpool bounced back from an early setback. Leicester City, who were without Nigeria’s Wilfred Ndidi, stunned the home side by scoring first through Jordan Ayew just six minutes into the match.
Despite dominating possession and creating several chances, Liverpool found themselves frustrated in the first half, with both Salah and Andy Robertson rattling the woodwork.
Just before halftime, Cody Gakpo levelled the score with a stunning strike from outside the box, shifting momentum in favour of the Reds. The second half saw Liverpool continue their dominance, with Curtis Jones putting them ahead shortly after the break. His goal endured a lengthy VAR check but was ultimately confirmed.
Salah capped off the evening by scoring Liverpool's third goal in the 82nd minute, finishing in typical fashion into the bottom corner. This goal not only sealed the victory but also marked his 100th home goal in the Premier League, making him only the eighth player to achieve this feat.
Season Performance
With this latest contribution, Salah has now registered a goal or assist in each of his last 10 matches, taking his tally for the season to na impressive 16 goals and 11 assists this season.
Liverpool extended their lead at the top of the table to seven-point over second-placed Chelsea, who dropped three points earlier against Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey’s Fulham.
